Public Input Sought on Draft 2050 Regional Transportation Plan
The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) has released the Draft 2050 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) for public review and comment. The public review and comment period began on Dec. 15, 2025 and ends on January 30, 2026.
The 2050 RTP is a long-range (25 year) transportation plan for the Santa Cruz County area. The plan assesses the transportation challenges we face now and those we will face in the future. It sets policy and a vision for the transportation system and estimates the amount of funding that will be available for planned transportation projects. The plan is an essential first step in securing funding from federal, state, and local sources. The RTP is updated every four or five years to address new trends, issues, and priorities, and to incorporate new state and federal regulations.
A public hearing for the Draft 2050 RTP will be held at the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission meeting:
- Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. as part of the RTC meeting
Comments can be submitted through Jan. 30, 2026, by email to info@sccrtc.org or at the public hearing.
