As the state-designated Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA), the Regional Transportation Commission is responsible for developing a long range transportation plan and selecting projects to receive a variety of state, federal and local transportation funds.

In addition, the RTC develops and works in collaboration with other entities throughout the region on other planning efforts aimed at improving Santa Cruz County’s multimodal transportation system.
