RTC Seeking Input on Name for New Railroad Subsidiary 

The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is creating a new railroad subsidiary to manage the freight property rights along the Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line (Branch Line), which is owned by the RTC.  

As part of this process, we are asking for your input on the name of the railroad subsidiary. The name will help reflect our community’s values, history, and connection to the rail line. While the subsidiary will focus specifically on freight property interests, it remains part of the RTC’s broader commitment to serving the transportation needs of our region.
