RTC Releases Draft San Lorenzo Valley Schools Circulation and Access Study for Public Review
The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) released the draft San Lorenzo Valley Schools Circulation and Access Study for review and public comment. The Study seeks to improve access to the San Lorenzo Valley High School, Middle School, and Elementary School (SLV Schools Complex), and traffic safety and operations along Highway 9.
In spring 2022, a collaboration between the RTC, Caltrans, San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District (SLVUSD), the County of Santa Cruz, and Santa Cruz METRO, was initiated in an effort to identify improvements to multimodal access to and within the SLV Schools Complex in Felton. The team utilized funding from Measure D-leveraged grants and the SLVUSD to prepare preliminary engineering, a traffic analysis, and a feasibility and needs assessment for enhancing safety and multimodal system performance within the project area, which stretches along Highway 9 from the Graham Hill Road intersection in Felton to the southern intersection of Glen Arbor Road as well as circulation within the school campuses.
The draft Study is now available for review and public comment at https://sccrtc.org/slvplan. Comments from stakeholders and the public can be submitted to info@sccrtc.org for consideration by the project team in the final draft.
