RTC to Consider Adoption of 2045 Regional Transportation Plan and Hear Public Input on 2016 Measure D Lift Line Five-Year Plan for Transit

The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) will consider adoption of the 2045 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) and Environmental Impact Report (EIR) at its June 16, 9 a.m. meeting. The RTP is a state-mandated document that identifies transportation needs in Santa Cruz County over the next twenty-five years. It estimates the amount of funding that will be available and identifies planned transportation projects. The RTP is an essential first step in securing funding from federal, state, and local sources. As required by state law, the RTP includes discussion of highways, local streets and roads, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transit services, specialized transportation services for seniors and people with disabilities, airports, and goods movement.

The Final 2045 Regional Transportation Plan and EIR are available at www.sccrtc.org/2045rtp.

The RTC will also hold a public hearing no sooner than 9:30 a.m. at its June 16 meeting to provide an opportunity for feedback about how Community Bridges Lift Line Paratransit plans to spend voter-approved 2016 Measure D revenues over the next five years.

The draft five-year plan and more information about the 2016 transportation tax Measure D is online at www.sccrtc.org/move.

The deadline for written comments on the 2016 Measure D Lift Line Five-Year Plan for Transit for Seniors and People with Disabilities is 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Comments can be emailed to info@sccrtc.org. Oral comments may also be provided to the RTC board during the public hearing. Staff reports and login details are available in the meeting agenda.
