Public Input Sought on Unmet Transit and Paratransit Needs
The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is holding a public hearing at its Thursday, May 4, 2023 meeting at the Capitola City Council Chambers & via Zoom (see meeting agenda for login info) to receive public input on the 2023 Draft Unmet Transit and Paratransit Needs List. The hearing will begin no sooner than 10:00 a.m. and will be preceded by a staff presentation.
Each year, the RTC and its Elderly and Disabled Transportation Advisory Committee (E&D TAC) develop a list of transit and paratransit needs in Santa Cruz County with a focus on the needs of seniors, people with disabilities, and/or people with limited means. Unmet transit and paratransit needs are those which are not being met by the current public transit system, have community support, and do not duplicate transit services provided publicly or privately. The Unmet Transit and Paratransit Needs List is a tool to identify transit and paratransit needs, services, and project funding priorities for future grants and other funds.
Public input on the 2023 Draft Unmet Transit and Paratransit Needs List can be submitted using the online form by May 1, 2023. Comments received will be considered in future updates.
The deadline for written comments for the public hearing on the 2023 Draft Unmet Transit and Paratransit Needs List is 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Comments can be emailed to info@sccrtc.org, or mailed to 1101 Pacific Ave., Ste. 250, Santa Cruz, CA 95060. Oral comments may also be provided to the RTC board during the public hearing.
